Slumdog Millionaire stars in their much awaited limo rides to Oscars
How does one even begin to write when history has been created!
Almost every Indian was glued to their TV sets when A.R. Rahman received his oscar and gave the following acceptance speech:
“I just want to thank again the whole crew of Slumdog Millionaire, especially Danny Boyle for giving such a great opportunity. And the whole, all the people from Mumbai. The essence of the film which is about optimism and the power of hope in the lives, and all my life I had a choice of hate and love. I chose love and I’m here. God bless.”
Wow! Now that the movie has won so many oscars the backlash has already begun. There are so many blogs about people ranting out their anger at the director for showing only one side of India – The poor side. Hello people wake up! The film is about a slumdog Millionaire and if that doesn’t show the slums of Dharavi then what will?
The director has shown just a glimpse of the real poverty of India. The Slum, The Society, The Police, The reality television-show ethics, the religious fanatic, the sensationalized TV show anchor. India is just not this. It’s all this and MORE!
Slumdog was initially intended as a DVD release when Warner International went bankrupt but thanks to Fox Searchlight it’s now an Oscar Icon!
The film is an emotional account of a boy who wants to become a millionaire on a television game show, in the process finding the love of his life. Boyle has beautifully depicted the society that revolves around survival of the fittest and where betrayal and greed are second nature to everyone!
The story is about Jamal, a poor but mischievous boy who along with his older brother Salim keep getting in and out of scrapes. Their lives change suddenly when their mother is killed viciously in communal riots. Orphaned and alone they become the “slumdogs” of the streets of Mumbai. Latika, a feisty yound girl befriends them and soon they are inseparable and they become the three musketeers. They fight the odds of life together.
The twist is when Jamal appears on India’s version of the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Interestingly, he finds that he’s winning more prize money then he ever expected. Alarmed at how a “slumdog” who has no formal education learn the answers to these questions? The suspicions give rise to new problems for Jamal.
The film is an emotional rollercoaster ride. The biggest rider is romance in a world where socio, economic and political issues are never at bay. The young actors have done their job superbly well but it is Boyle’s dramatic expertise and his tact of displaying the heat, sweat and street life of Mumbai that decorates Slumdog Millionaire into a moving cinematic experience.
And to be honest , what best was the ride to Oscars for all the stars of the movie, this movie has been going around the globe and winning about everything by striking a chord with the judges world over, so to me the fairy tail ride of limo bus ride to the oscars is much well deserved by the little stars of the movie.
I am sure mDeals is now going to come out pretty soon with their mobile coupons to gain some popularity of this movie by giving away the slumdog stuff via their discount deals and I think its fair to do that as well!
Hurray and love to the little stars of the movie who made it special to me 
and salute to Danny Boyle and his team as well.

Oscars are here … limo hire companies get ready
I was just going through this post and I realized wow its that time of the year again, Oscars are almost here and well its that time of the year when limo hire companies just dream about , its not just extra business for their limo cars but the amount of publicity that is generated from these high profile guests arriving for the red carpet in some of the best american stretch limousines, that leads to a mad rush that every person who is who who wants to start travelling in limo whether its to do with their limo london trip or limo berkshire or our limo surrey trip, people even start pushing for heathrow airport transfers.
Its a big booming time for every business, from limo hire to bespoke web design to wap development, everyone is rushing to get their sites their limo cars in the best shapes to generate maximum business and hence make most of the money of their limo hire business.
Coming back to Oscars we have some very intense competition at our hands we have Scott Thomas and Hawkins as the British stars in contention and there will be thousands of pink limo to ford excursion jeep to executive icon limo lined up and waiting for them if they get to win their oscars.
Similarly there will be thousands of html websites and ecommerce web design which will come up to sell and blog anything they do and everything related to them.
Thats the iconic status of Oscars which is unmatched and my memory of awards just takes me to red carpet and hordes of limo cars and celebrities coming out of their limo hire cars from around the world.
