Wow! Now that the movie has won so many oscars the backlash has already begun. There are so many blogs about people ranting out their anger at the director for showing only one side of India – The poor side. Hello people wake up! The film is about a slumdog Millionaire and if that doesn’t show the slums of Dharavi then what will?

The director has shown just a glimpse of the real poverty of India. The Slum, The Society, The Police, The reality television-show ethics, the religious fanatic, the sensationalized TV show anchor. India is just not this. It’s all this and MORE!

Slumdog was initially intended as a DVD release when Warner International went bankrupt but thanks to Fox Searchlight it’s now an Oscar Icon!

The film is an emotional account of a boy who wants to become a millionaire on a television game show, in the process finding the love of his life. Boyle has beautifully depicted the society that revolves around survival of the fittest and where betrayal and greed are second nature to everyone!

The story is about Jamal, a poor but mischievous boy who along with his older brother Salim keep getting in and out of scrapes. Their lives change suddenly when their mother is killed viciously in communal riots. Orphaned and alone they become the “slumdogs” of the streets of Mumbai. Latika, a feisty yound girl befriends them and soon they are inseparable and they become the three musketeers. They fight the odds of life together.

The twist is when Jamal appears on India’s version of the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Interestingly, he finds that he’s winning more prize money then he ever expected. Alarmed at how a “slumdog” who has no formal education learn the answers to these questions? The suspicions give rise to new problems for Jamal.

The film is an emotional rollercoaster ride. The biggest rider is romance in a world where socio, economic and political issues are never at bay. The young actors have done their job superbly well but it is Boyle’s dramatic expertise and his tact of displaying the heat, sweat and street life of Mumbai that decorates Slumdog Millionaire into a moving cinematic experience.

And to be honest , what best was the ride to Oscars for all the stars of the movie, this movie has been going around the globe and winning about everything by striking a chord with the judges world over, so to me the fairy tail ride of limo bus ride to the oscars is much well deserved by the little stars of the movie.

haha … you may find it weird till you read this news post, and I bet it will blow your mind as it did for me… I guess the next thing on the cards is limo hire business marketing church trips by limousine , and why not if we can go to parties, conferences we should actually pay a visit to god whether by its london limo hire or berkshire limo or hampshire limo, the point is to pay the visit in your best possible manner.
